Today I thought I would try to create a new look in my dyeing studio. This is one large piece of hand dyed fabric! It is made by draping a length of fabric through several containers containing different colours of dyes. The dyes migrate into the next piece of fabric and you get some transitional zones. Although it is interesting, I think that the fabric piece should have been much shorter. I hope to create a few variations of this for my SHOP. This piece was created from periwinkle, peach, lime and cherry. If you would like a backing made in this manner, let me know your colour scheme. If you need a backing wider than 44" wide I would need to sew two lengths together prior to the dyeing, as it is difficult to match the colours afterwards because of the random nature of colour placement.
