This was the starting point for Lilypad Lounging. Karon created this inspiring picture, full of traditional quilting motifs like the pinwheels in the corners, the border strips and the half square triangles. She suggested bright colours for a little boy's quilt. I think that this quilt could have so many looks, depending on the colours and motifs that you choose. The water has horizontal lines drawn across it, which could be pintucks or tiny seams. This suggests a feeling of movement. I didn't add the tadpoles to my version of the quilt, but feel free to make the quilt in your own way. In the pattern you will find additional lilypads and dragonflies beyond what I ended up using. The quilt would be so cute made from traditional quilting materials or from hand dyed fabrics which you can buy from this website. Have fun making this adorable little quilt and when it's finished pop us a picture to share with others. Then go enjoy some well deserved lounging of your own!
